Young Minds. Bold Solutions.

World Affairs Challenge participants don’t wait until they are older to make a positive difference in the world. Our student teams are innovating sustainable solutions to global issues while still in middle or high school!

The “WAC” is an international program and competition based in Denver, but open to students from across the globe.

Our student teams learn to:

  • Research and work with subject matter experts to learn about the root causes of a specific global issue, and how it impacts communities around the world in different ways

  • Design S.M.A.R.T. solutions to address their team’s selected issue

  • Implement community service projects (WACtions) that contribute toward solving the issue

On WAC Event Day, student teams present their work to a panel of judges for feedback and scoring.

30 Years!

The 2022 World Affairs Challenge will be our 30th Anniversary!

If you have seen our students in action, or have been a participant in the World Affairs Challenge, then you know firsthand how impactful the program can be. Since 1992, we have helped more than 8,000 middle and high school students become invested global citizens. To ensure we can grow and sustain the program for the next 30 years, please consider giving $3-30 a month in honor of our 30th year.

Your donations expand programming options and increases access for students across Colorado and beyond, regardless of their school’s financial situation or location, and connects students to community leaders across the globe who provide subject matter expertise, mentoring, and connections to support team projects.

Join our community of monthly givers to provide the resources our students need to become global leaders.

Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.
— Harry Truman
