The Denver Council on Foreign Relations World Affairs Challenge Grant 2014

The Denver Council on Foreign Relations (DCFR) is providing one grant in an amount up to $750 to a ruralColorado junior/middle high or high school for the school’s use in participation at the 2014 World Affairs Challenge at Regis University.

The DCFR will award funding on the basis of merit and need.  Merit will be judged by the quality and content of the application, and need by the proportion of students qualifying for free or reduced price lunch.

This grant may be used for any of the following: participation fees ($250 per team of up to 8 students), travel to Regis University, lodging, or expenses related to preparation. Of the grant, $100 is to be set aside as an honorarium for the organizing teacher.

Registration deadline is January 31, 2014

2014 World Affairs Challenge Grant

Sponsored by Colorado Springs World Affairs Council and the Cameron Contributors

This grant, made possible by James and Diane Cameron, is available to high/junior high/ middle schools in El Paso and Teller Counties for the school’s use in participating in the 2014 World Affairs Challenge at the Regis University campus in northwest Denver.

The grant, up to $750, may be used for registration fees ($325 per team of 6-8 students), travel to Denver, lodging, and any expenses related to preparation. Of the grant, $100 is to be set aside as an honorarium for the organizing teacher.

The Council will award funding on the basis of merit and need. Merit will be judged by the content of the application (statement of intent and principal’s endorsement) and need by the proportion of students qualifying for free or reduced price lunch.
