Gordon Mosher is currently a Western Division Program Manager for AVID Center. AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities. AVID started in 1980 with one teacher and one classroom. Today AVID is collaborating with nearly 6,000 schools in 46 states and 16 foreign countries and territories. Gordon is also the Chair for the Colorado ACT Council, and President of the Parker, CO Chapter for Modern Woodmen of America. Before coming to AVID Center, Mr. Mosher spent 15 years in public education in Michigan and Arizona. He was a science teacher, athletic coach, mentor teacher, instructional coach, and Director of Advanced Placement. Gordon received a B.S. in Forestry, a B.S. in Applied Ecology and Environmental Sciences, and a secondary teaching certification from Michigan Technological University. He also holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Fort Hays State University.
